pictures: How do I change the size of pictures or eliminate them

I don't have nearly enough pictures and no possible way to make them. I could repeat the same image 12 times, but that would look just as bad as the ruler placeholder that's there now. Can I make a guide WITHOUT pictures or a limited number of them? And/or much smaller pictures, or are we stuck with the same size pictures and one for every bullet?

I work at an organization that would greatly benefit from Dozuki's easy-to-use tools and ways to distribute content.
oManual: Guidebook data is XML, but can I store and access it locally?

In consideration of Dozuki for a medium sized electronics manufacturer, the major concern of interested parties is the fact that the content - ie the documents - is stored remotely and not necessarily exportable or editable unless via Dozuki. Should Dozuki or any supporting infrastructure suffer a major failure, the system and content is lost to us.

Is my understanding of this correct, or is there a way to store the documents locally and to edit and create final PDF files without the exclusive use of Dozuki's web based system?

To rephrase: How could we carry on maintaining documents if a major natural event wiped out connectivity to Dozuki?

In a similar vein, concern has been expressed over the loss of content if a third party purchased and closed or significantly increase subscription costs.

Hoping these concerns can be allayed?

Edit: So I have now read about oManual and the open XML standard used by Dozuki. My question now then is how exactly open is this - can I download the oManual format for each of my guides and edit and maintain using some system other than Dozuki?

iPad Photo: Allow easy Guide Authoring with iPad App

The DOZUKI iPad APP seems perfect for Authoring IF it were architected to actually encourage Authoring by creating a wizard like AUthor Mode where you could easily Snap Pictures with the iPad and use the APP to have them immediately included in your guide then a full screen step authoring mode to complement.

Figure Legends on photos: Can photos be labeled either with numbers or, even better, legends?

Since you can include three photos per step, it would be great if they were at least numbered so that they could be referred to in the text specifically. It would be even better if the photos could have descriptions below them -- like figure legends -- so that each part could be described in detail seperate from the instruction text.

Dozuki iPad App: Dozuki app is temporarily unavailable, back Wednesday

We are switching the Dozuki app over to it's own company on the app store. In the process we're removing the app from the store for a day. The app will be back at a new link on Wednesday.

We're doing this to avoid confusion with iFixit; we thought it would be better to have the app listed on its own.

I will update this post the moment we have a new link. This is a one time event—we shouldn't have to do this ever again.

A bonus: we've got a major update to the app that will be rolling out at the same time! Because of the company change, to get this update, you'll need to uninstall your existing app and install the new one.
