Step 2 ¶
Use small (stepped) end of installation tool and rubber mallet to push internal Back-up Seal Sleeve (11365) through cylinder forcing seal and hoop out of other end of cylinder. Do not remove sleeve.
Turn cylinder over and, using non-stepped end of installation tool, push other seal out by tapping with a rubber mallet.
Visually inspect cylinder bore at both ends of cylinder. If the inside bore finish is blemished, remove backup sleeve and go to Step 3. If ID is good, proceed to Step 4.
Step 3 ¶
To refinish cylinder bore, place cylinder on a table. With a piece of 180 grit abrasive paper in each end, roll cylinder back and forth to remove blemishes.
Repeat process with Scotch Brite to polish surface.
Clean cylinder thoroughly after polishing.
Step 4 ¶
With clean hands, remove o-rings and seals from bags.
Apply grease from enclosed packet to o-rings.
Install o-rings on seals without twisting o-rings.
