How do I change the size of pictures or eliminate them

I don't have nearly enough pictures and no possible way to make them. I could repeat the same image 12 times, but that would look just as bad as the ruler placeholder that's there now. Can I make a guide WITHOUT pictures or a limited number of them? And/or much smaller pictures, or are we stick with the same size pictures and one for every bullet?
