Can we add steps before the prerequisite gides steps?

I have just made a repair guide, https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Fix+False+P.... I created some disassembly guides and set them as prerequisites.

One thing my repair guide is missing is some steps and pictures at the start to demonstrate if this repair is indicated. All I can do is put text instructions in the introduction, but this isn't as helpful as a picture showing (in this case) the location of the lever whose movements indicate this problem.

Is there a way to put one or more steps before the steps from the prerequisite guides? If not, could you consider this as a feature for a future version of Dozuki/iFixit?

Update (11/20/2017)

I did think of a work-around, that I have used - create a guide that contains just the 'determine if you need to do this' step, and add it as the first prerequisite. As it doesn't make sense outside of the full guide, I have left it private.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Robert,

Your workaround is how we intended the prerequisite guides feature should work. You can add as many prerequisite guides to your container guide as you require.

Check out our help documentation for more tips on how to use prerequisites.

Thanks. The only glitch is that it clutters up the device's page with guides that are not useful on their own.

BTW, could you drop by to that devices page, https://www.ifixit.com/Device/HP_Officej... , and categorize it to the HP Officejet page? The issue I determined will likely affect other Officejet printers, so having this guide more discoverable will help others.

Thanks.
