Just Joking, but I am that guy asking all the question. I like knowing the fundamental principles behind the how and why something works the way it does so I can proceed to adjust, fix, or just understand it's operation better. I guess that does lend me towards asking more questions in general.

Answer to "How do I link to Pages of a PDF?"Here are some interesting observations I've made about it. There are basically three ways I can access the file in browser: (source): using the AWS link of the file (pdfjs): .../Document/pdfjs/?file=[direct source link] (site): .../Document/[doc number]/.pdf #page=[page number] works with the first two (source) and (pdfjs) When refreshing the browser page the (pdfjs) and (site) save the last page number the document was on. With both of these open in separate tabs the "page" info of (pdfjs) overrides (site). Not sure how all of this works on the back-end but hope this helps with trouble shooting. It would be a great feature to have a page input for document tags i.e. [code]

Answer to "Can Tags be added as a search result filter?"Hi Bryan, I haven't figured out how search filters work and don't know if you can add custom filters. What I do find helps though is in the Introduction section for a guide I add a note like: This guide applies to part numbers: (1) part1 (2) part2 (3) part3 So that it will show up in search results for any of those numbers as well as confirms to the reader that the guide is applicable to what they are doing. Adding tags for the part numbers is another great method if you want something that is not readily visible but will return in search results. Hopefully I understood your question correctly and this helps you out. - Forrest

Answer to "Do I need an app-id to do any API interfacing?"I've since discovered the answer to be No. The authToken will work for validation for most API tasks. Here is a sample for implementing this in java-script as a test. (1) Log into your dozuki site. (2) Go to (your-url).dozuki.com/api/2.0/user?pretty (3) copy the authToken (1) use it in the following javascript code [code]

Answer to "Where is a guide featured at when you mark it as featured?"I was able to implement a featured sidebar on my site by utilizing tags a wiki list and some CSS. I wanted to feature some wiki pages rather then guides so I had to set it up myself. It's a little tricky but i'll try to explain. In the category I wanted to feature the pages I simply put the following code: [code] Then I tagged any pages I wanted in this list as featured. This creates a basic list of featured content but it doesn't stand out in any way so I styled it with some css using the code bellow: [code] Sample Styled: For Larger Screens I wanted it to appear as a side bar but still appearing as above on smaller screens. The following describes how to make it show as a sidebar. [code] Sample Sidebar: This really helps the Featured Content stand out but there is only room for 3 pages to be featured. Any overflow would not be visible, so I added additional code to cycle through the overflow content. This is where it gets tricky. The code will need to be adjusted depending on how much overflow you have....

Answer to "Is there a "return to top of the page" button or feature?"I figured out a solution: Copy the following code into the custom CSS section: [code] For the page you want the button to appear on: (1) Copy the page URL (2) Go into page edit mode (3) Create a new link with: (3.1) Link_URL: (page url)#top <----- "Add #top to the end of the page url" (3.2) Link_Text: back to top <------ "This text will appear on the button" if done successfully the button will appear on the bottom right corner of the page.

Answer to "Can photos be labeled either with numbers or, even better, legends?"It's not perfect but one idea is that you could use the Line tool to make roman numerals in the bottom corner of the image and reference it as (image III) for example. EDIT I figured out a CSS solution to add numbers to the image icons. In the Custom CSS section for your site add: [code] This will be applied to every icon in all guides.

Answer to "How may I view a list of all my unpublished guide?"I discovered how an author can view all Unpublished Guides they've contributed to. It's rather simple and intuitively place under there profile page but for some reason it took me a while to find. Here is a guide on it if others have trouble as well: How to View Unpublished Guides.

I'm loving the DIY backdrop spool build in this image! I might steal that idea.
Is screencast supported for this?
Nice catch! I changed it. It just needs to be approved now.
